Paige Marie Oamek is a writer, editor, and fact-checker in Brooklyn (by way of Iowa).
Paige is currently a day-of reporter at Gothamist/WNYC. Before that, she was a research editor at WIRED magazine and a breaking news writer for The New Republic. Their writing has appeared in The Nation, In These Times, The New Republic, The American Prospect, and more.
Paige was recently a masters student at the CUNY Newmark School of Journalism with a specialization in data and business reporting.
Paige writes about politics, privatization, homelessness, and money with an eye toward technology’s role and is available for freelance projects of all kinds.
She also writes the bi-weekly newsletter The First Word and produces a weekly political comedy podcast.
